Advice From A Sunflower

Miles and miles of sunflowers...

We had no idea how crazy and trendy this whole sunflower culture was until we arrived to Bogle Seeds farm, to see a massive selfie apocalypse happening just minutes after we parked.

Yara & I did not plan on photographing this place and truthfully we had no idea where we were going until we arrived because our companion Khaled wanted to surprise us by nature's phenomenon. Luckily we had our camera on us and ran to grab it once we saw how crazy people were acting as we got there.

I'll get to the fun part in a second, but here is a fact: On Saturday July 28th, 2018 Bogle Seeds farm in Milgrove had shut down permanently. They closed because of all the people that visited to take photos for the gram (just check the location tag Bogle Seeds and you will see).

We interviewed Yellow who is one of the many beautiful sunflowers there, she stood tall and bright facing the sun...

1. What do you have to say to all these fans coming to visit and taking photos with you?
First off, thank you fans. We all appreciate caring and loving humans, but some of my friends need a bit more space to grow so be gentle.

2. What advice would you give people?
Focus on the good, turn your back to darkness and follow the light of the sun. Don't be scared to stand tall even on your darkest days to find that one ray of light.

3. Some people call you "Helianthus" can you explain to us what that means?
It is not a very common name among the masses, but Helia means Sun and Anthus means flower - you get the point.

4. Tell us a fun fact about you...
I love art, so I always make sure that my spiral formation of seeds always follows the Fibonacci sequence. That way I can have up to 2000 seeds.

5. How do you seek to improve the world?

My friends and I produce seeds, oils, fibre for papers and fabric, healing herbs and we try to help soak up nuclear radiation.

6. Lastly, when can we meet again?
Next July/August, but you will always see me chasing the sun.

We were very lucky to have experienced such an amazing, inspiring and joyful day. Thanks to our fellow nature friends. If we took one thing from all of this, it's understand the perspective of Earth and the world will always remain beautiful. Let's make sure we care for our planet, for our surroundings and show some love to living creatures for there is nothing more noble and artistic than that.

Here is a saying by Helen Keller:

"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It's what sunflowers do"
