Fann Wa Chai

What's better than coffee on Mondays? A local art gallery, inside a tea bar, inside what used to be a heritage home.

Yara and I grew up surrounded by art, always creating things and instilled a love for arabic tea (with mint and sage of course). One of the first things we did when we arrived to Amman is scope out cultural and local spaces. We did not want to go to "modern" cafés, but rather a place that you know, spoke to us.

BAM! We got introduced to Fann Wa Chai by a friend of ours (Thanks Haneen).

Located in one of the oldest and most beautiful districts in Amman; Jabal Al Weibdeh, Kullyet Al Sharea St is where we ended up. One staircase away Fann Wa Chai's balcony hung overlooking the historic streets of Al Weibdeh (it was a pretty special view).

Inside of the tea bar there was a large squared counter, with plywood overhead, little vintage chairs and tables, bookshelves, hanging artwork, rustic antique doors, amazing hand painted cutlery closets and lets not forget, some fishieeeees in a T.V aquarium (oh soul, my soul of the soul).
